David Ferbrache OBE, FBCS, FCIIS: Managing Director, Beyond Blue

David is the Managing Director of Beyond Blue, a boutique consultancy providing operational resilience and national cybersecurity policy advice to clients globally. David is also the global head of cyber futures for KPMG international, and former chair of the Scottish National Cyber Resilience Advisor Board advising Scottish Ministers on their national cyber resilience strategy. David has won multiple awards including “Cyber security personality of the year” in 2018 in the Cyber Security Awards and “European continuity resilience consultant of the year” in 2021 in the BCI awards. With over 30 years of experience in cyber security including over 20 years in government, David has been a regular speaker at conferences and events from as a far afield as Malaysia and Saudi Arabia, to closer to home. 

David was the first Head of Cyber & Space for the Ministry of Defence, as well as holding other Director roles in MOD including Director of Science and Director of Industrial Policy. He also founded the Cyber & Influence centre at Dstl Porton Down, and the NITEworks defence partnership which for over 17 years offered unique innovation services to MOD. David was made an OBE for his contribution to national security post 9-11, and was one of the authors of the first UK national cyber security strategy as well as the first Scottish cyber resilience strategy. David has also been recognised by the Director of the NSA and by Department of Defense for his contribution to international cyber security partnerships working closely with the 5 eyes community. David is a fellow of the British Computer Society and the Chartered Institute of Information Security.
